Students participate in daily masterclasses, music theory and aural skills sessions and small ensembles coached by camp faculty, leading up to a Friday afternoon concert. Afternoon electives explore topics including recording, fiddling and baroque music. Lunchtime activities include improv, music games and a special performance by the musicians from the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
Top off your musical week with a trip to hear the Hartford Symphony Orchestra at Talcott Mountain! Tickets for the HSO’s Friday, 7:30 PM, July 15 performance will be available at a special group rate through MSSC ($15 adult/$5, 12 and under).
* Students must have some music reading experience. String students should be in at least the middle of Suzuki Book 1 (or equivalent) to participate. Guitarists should have the ability to play some chords in first position. Classes will be grouped by age and ability.

9:00-10:30 AM – Musicianship (Theory/Sight-singing)
10:30-11:30 AM – Masterclasses
11:30 AM -12:30 PM – Lunch + Activity (music games, improv, HSO visit, etc.)
12:30-1:45 PM – Ensembles
2:00-3:00 PM – Specials (Fiddling, Recording, Baroque Music)
Friday, July 15 Events: 4:00 PM – Student Concert, Music School at Sound Crossing
